Lucky Canuck Comedy launches online news blog

HAMILTON - October 13, 2020 - Lucky Canuck Comedy has started a satirical online blog to cover Canadian news stories, politics, entertainment, and lifestyle. The blog, called Lucky Canuck News, will publish new articles weekly, or, you know, whenever they feel like it.
"This isn't necessarily something I want to do, but something I have to do," says Tom Duff, the blog's editor-in-chief and head writer. "And I don't mean that in an inspirational 'do my civic duty' type of way. I mean I literally have to do this for an assignment."
The assignment Duff is referring to is for the Social Media and Digital Communications course at Mohawk College, which is offered as part of their Public Relations graduate certificate program.
Duff hopes Lucky Canuck News will provide moments of light-hearted levity for readers who have  experienced the dumpster fire of a year known as 2020. Duff said he will pull inspiration from some of his favourite satirical news publications like The Beaverton, The Onion, and The National Post.
Lucky Canuck Comedy is a sketch comedy group based in Hamilton and are known for their ridiculous characters and outrageous premises. Their live performances are currently on hold due to the global pandemic but they will be launching an online video channel in 2021.
